About Dr. Mario Paz
Dr. Paz is president of the American Lingual Orthodontic Association (ALOA) and is internationally known for his dedication and skill in this specialty. Dr. Paz is a frequent speaker on the subject of Lingual orthodontics and holds an annual Lingual orthodontics teaching course for orthodontists from around the world. Dr. Mario E. Paz has established one of the leading private Cosmetic Dentistry practices in the country and is an authority in the art of Lingual Braces. His close association with the inventor of lingual braces, the late Dr. Craven Kurz, places him in the unique position of being one of the most experienced orthodontists in the world using this method. Now in private practice in Beverly Hills and Marina del Rey, California, Dr. Paz specializes in lingual braces, traditional braces, the Invisalign System and TMD disorders.
Dr. Paz graduated from the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York with a Masters in Dental Science (MS). He received a Certificate of Proficiency in Orthodontics with special training in Lingual Orthodontics (Concealed or Behind the Teeth Braces), and completed a fellowship in Temporomandibular (Jaw) Disorder. He completed his General Dentistry Residency at Eastman Dental Center, Rochester, New York and has had special training in the treatment of children with cleft palate and other craniofacial anomalies.
Dr. Paz currently holds active memberships in the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), World Society of Lingual Orthodontics (WSLO) and is the President of the American Lingual Association of Orthodontists (ALOA). Dr Paz is an active member and director of the Beverly Hills Academy of Dentistry.
Dr. Paz holds several publications in prestigious medical journals. He has lectured in the fields of Lingual Braces, Invisalign combined with lingual braces and TMD in the U.S. and abroad. In May of 1989 Dr. Paz, in competition with doctors from universities across the country, became the honoured recipient of the Harry Sicher First Research Award presented by the American Association of Orthodontists. This award, granted once a year, is for the highest achievement and most significant research in the field of orthodontics.
Dr. Paz has focused on Lingual orthodontic therapy since 1990 and enjoys the reputation of having one of the largest Lingual orthodontic practices in the country. Dr. Paz is a perfectionist in obtaining ideal cosmetic results for his patients both while they are in active treatment and afterwards in post-restorative dental treatment with their general dentists.
